The Deutsche Bank Netball
Winter League and Development Programme
Deutsche Bank's sponsorship of the Jersey Netball Association (JNA)
helps to fund the Deutsche Bank Winter league. It also subsidises
the operation of youth development squads, including training for
umpires and coaches and provides the necessary funding for juniors
with exceptional talent or recognised potential to progress via
the Deutsche Bank Development Programme.
The JNA has been established within the Island since 1944. During
2002/2003 the association had approximately 400 registered players,
290 Seniors and 110 Under 16's, associated with 31 teams spread
across four divisional leagues. Netball is the largest ladies associated
sport within the Island and is the primary sport for girls within
the local educational system.
Like any sport, continuation can only be possible through encouraging
junior development and the Deutsche Bank Development Programme ensures
the longevity of this vibrant and exciting island game through the
advancement of our younger players.
As a sport which attracts people from all spectra of Island life,
many of our staff and clients share an interest in this sport. The
dedication, teamwork and focus shown by the players, umpires and
coaches within the JNA is reflected by the high standard of play
within the league. This commitment is shared by all of us at Deutsche
Bank.
