Deutsche Bank Rugby
Development Programme
The Deutsche Bank Rugby Development Programme has been established
by Jersey's Rugby Development Officer, Mark White, and initiatives
include:
- the introduction of tag rugby into primary schools;
- coaching and refereeing courses for secondary school teachers
to ensure continuous development and improved delivery of rugby
coaching;
- holiday coaching schemes for children of all ages and abilities
during the school holidays with qualified coaches at a number
of locations around the Island; and
- A schools' summer mixed touch rugby league for pupils in years
9 - 11.
In addition to the above, Mr White is keen to establish a Community
Rugby programme to aid in the development of mini, junior and youth
rugby with qualified coaches in St Helier.
There are also plans to develop a website for all clubs, schools
and associations to contain information on fixtures, courses, coaching
drills and practices, rules and regulations.
Rugby is a sport that has many synergies with Deutsche Bank's own
core values of teamwork, innovation, trust, focus and performance.
We are delighted to support the work of Mark White, particularly
in making the sport more accessible to a wider range of young people.
