Deutsche Bank, Guernsey, have been the principal sponsor of the
Emergency Services Triathlon since 2003.
In 2004, the Deutsche Bank Emergency Services Triathlon takes place
on Sunday, 19th September and a total of 216 athletes have signed
up for the competition with ten teams taking part in the Corporate
Relay.
The annual Guernsey/Jersey inter-insular competition has been incorporated
into the event making it the largest standard distance triathlon
to be held in the Channel Islands.
The first phase will be the 1500m swim, followed by a 40km cycle
and concluding with a 10km run. The course is based around L'Eree
with cyclists completing a figure of eight around the L'Eree-Mallard-Imperial-L'Eree
circuit and also takes in the West coast as far as Albecq. The run
consists of three loops up L'Eree hill turning first left to Grande
Rue, St Saviours then left to the coast at Perelle and left again
to follow the coast road back to L'Eree.
