Establishment of the Jersey Capital Markets Working Group

A recent Corporate Services Division (CSD) initiative has seen the establishment of an industry representative body, the Capital Markets Working Group. The working group has been set up to work with Island regulators to develop an even better environment for asset repackaging, securitisation and collaterised debt obligation transactions.

For some time the Jersey Financial Services Commission has not had a single point of contact within the capital markets sector of the Island’s finance industry, resulting in consultations being time consuming and uncoordinated.

The new Capital Markets Working Group consists of lawyers, accountants, bankers and administrators representing the most involved firms within the Island who can provide balanced feedback or suggestions to the authorities in response to market developments.

William Webbe, Head of CSD Marketing and Business Development at DBO, acts as secretary to the working group.
