As an expression of its unity with the American people, Deutsche
Bank has committed US$ 4 million to aid in relief efforts associated
with the terrorist attacks in the United States on September 11.
The funds will be dedicated to the American Red Cross, as well as
other organisations dedicated to assisting police, fire and other
emergency rescue workers, victims, survivors and their families.
Deutsche Bank will also make an additional US$ 500,000 in matching
gifts available to its employees worldwide who are anxious to show
their support.
"In response to the despicable and cowardly attacks on the
United States, we extend our sympathy to the victims, the injured,
and their families and friends," said Rolf-E Breuer, Spokesman
of the Board of Managing Directors. "We are ready to help our
friends and neighbours overcome these tragic events."
As a member of the New York community, Deutsche Bank has been planning
a listing on the New York Stock Exchange for some time. To demonstrate
its commitment to the US financial markets, Deutsche Bank will move
forward with its NYSE listing as planned on October 3, 2001.
