Deutsche Bank Offshore have announced the sponsorship of Dave Morris,
the Bank's IT infrastructure manager and his rowing team, for the
next two years.
Mr Morris and his fellow crew members, Guy Hinks, Simon Young, Paul
Falloon and cox, Paul Yates are no strangers to success having dominated
the Jersey Rowing Club Gin-D and Baywatch Series of races for the
past seven years. They are also the current holders of all records
in their class for the various point to point round the Island races.
In addition to these achievements the crew has been first boat home
in two of the prestigious Sark to Jersey races. Adding to this impressive
tally, four crew members were part of last year's record breaking
London to Paris rowing challenge.
The sponsorship deal with Deutsche Bank Offshore has enabled the
team to purchase a new "Euro Diffusion" sliding seat fours'
boat, which will enable the team to compete on level terms in forthcoming
events with both French and Guernsey crews. The boat, christened
"Deutsche Bank Offshore", arrived from France at the beginning
of June and training in the new set-up has already begun.
The Deutsche Bank crew aims to continue its success rowing the new
sliding seat boat in the remaining races of the season. They will
also compete in the London River Race in September 2001.
