Circle Cycle Tour Wheels in New Sponsor

Deutsche Bank (Mauritius) Limited announced today that they would be the lead sponsor of the annual cycle race - The Deutsche Bank Mauritius 100km Cycle Tour-2004.

Based on the successful cycle tour held in Cape Town South Africa each year which started off very modestly and has now grown in into a major event with 36000 cyclists participating last year, the event was first established in Mauritius in 1999.

This year's event takes place on Sunday, 26 September 2004 starting from Plaisance Airport, Mahebourg and contestants from around the region, as well as locally are already starting to register their intention to participate.

Javeed Ameen, Head of Banking at Deutsche Bank (Mauritius) Limited said, "We are very pleased to continue our involvement with The Circle Cycle Tour which each year goes from strength to strength and now attracts overseas as well as local cyclists. Cycling is a growing sport in Mauritius and last year 483 competitors completed the 100km course.

"At Deutsche Bank we work in partnership with our clients and we are pleased to extend this partnership, with our community partners, in supporting the Circle Cycle Tour of Mauritius. We are always keen participate in charitable initiatives in the countries in which we are located, as evidenced by our five year participation in the Pink Pigeon conservation project with the Mauritius Wildlife Foundation. Events such as the Deutsche Bank 100km Cycle Tour do so much to raise not only much needed funds but also the profile of the very worthwhile local beneficiary charities."
