Songsmiths from around the Bailiwick converged on the Ladies College
on Saturday 5th November for the first Singing Day of the Guernsey
Choral Workshop in advance of their 2006 performance of Verdi’s
Requiem.
The day was lead once again by Musical Director, Malcolm Goldring
who introduced the 90 strong ensemble to this challenging piece.
The Choral Workshop, brainchild of Keith and Glenda Dawber, has
attracted the services of guest soloists, Naomi Harvey (Soprano),
Antonia Sotgiu (Mezzo Soprano), Jeffrey Lloyd–Roberts (Tenor)
and Quentin Hayes (Bass) who will come to Guernsey for the final
rehearsals with the choristers in advance of the performance which
takes place on 7th January 2006 at St James, accompanied by the
Guernsey Sinfonia Orchestra.
