Graduation. An exciting time……..
sometimes a stressful time. Certainly a time for choices and decisions
to be made which will impact the direction of your career.
Some graduates will know exactly what they want to do after graduation
and have already chosen their future career path. Other graduates
will still be thinking through a number of alternatives and options.
For all graduates, however, the prospect of entering the working
world can be daunting. In order to make the transition from student
to employee as painless as possible, it pays to think through
very carefully what you want from a job – not just in the
short term but in the long term. Try and visualise, for example,
where you would like to be in five years time in terms of your
career goals and aspirations and then plan how you are going to
get there.
Be honest with yourself regarding your strengths and weaknesses,
your likes and dislikes and take these into account when deciding
upon both your preferred career path and the type of organisation
you wish to join.
