Deutsche Bank Mauritius has provided
assistance to enable 11 students from the Association Excel in
German Language (AEGL) to undertake a study tour to Stuttgart,
Germany this month.
The students, accompanied by three tutors, will fly to Germany
tomorrow to embark on a 12-day study tour that will help them
to improve their language skills and gain a more in-depth understanding
of Germany and its people.
Deutsche Bank offered the AEGL financial assistance after local
employees learnt that the students were struggling to raise the
funds required to go on the tour.
According to, Javeed Ameen, Chief Country Officer for Deutsche
Bank in Mauritius, the Bank came to an arrangement whereby Deutsche
matched every rupee raised by the students with another two rupees.
In return, AEGL has agreed to provide Deutsche Bank’s employees
with subsidised attendance at German language courses over the
next twelve months.
“We are very pleased to be able to provide support the
AEGL’s efforts in promoting the German language and culture
among our young people. This is a fantastic opportunity for them
to further develop their language skills and to gain an understanding
of another culture and we’re very proud to be playing a
part in their development, “ said Ameen.
