Community projects in Jersey and
Guernsey are to receive a boost over the coming weeks as Deutsche
Bank announces the launch of its Community Challenge initiative.
This year, Deutsche Bank is celebrating its 35th anniversary
of operating in the Channel Islands and the Bank is looking to
involve Jersey and Guernsey communities in its celebrations through
the Community Challenge.
As part of the Challenge initiative, teams of staff at Deutsche
Bank in Jersey and Guernsey will undertake and complete a particular
community project in each island, which will be decided by a public
vote in March.
Leaders of community projects are invited to submit an application
for their project to be considered by a panel of judges who will
create a shortlist. The public will then be asked to vote for
the project they would like to see the Bank staff undertake in
each island, with the final project being completed over the weekend
of 23rd March.
Further details about the shortlisted projects for the Challenge
will run in parallel with the initiative on Channel 103 in Jersey
and Island FM in Guernsey, who are the media partners for the
event.
Mark Hirst, Chief Executive of Deutsche Bank Channel Islands,
said:
“This is a major part of Deutsche Bank’s 35th year
anniversary in the Channel Islands. The format for the Community
Challenge could be described as a cross between ‘Restoration’
and ‘Challenge Anneka’. All the staff at Deutsche
Bank are looking forward to getting fully involved in a worthwhile
community project and we hope that the community in Jersey and
Guernsey will get behind the Challenge and really help support
their favoured project.”
