Deutsche Bank (Cayman) Limited has
announced a partnership with the National Gallery of the Cayman
Islands to award a scholarship to local students wishing to pursue
a career in the visual arts.
The four-year scholarship, worth US$20,000 a year, forms part
of the collaboration between Deutsche Bank and the National Gallery
and will be awarded to assist local students with the funding
of their visual arts education overseas. The student will also
aim to pursue a career in the visual arts in the Cayman Islands
post-graduation. It is intended that, through the graduates, the
visual arts will continue to develop on the Islands.
Scholarships will be awarded on an annual basis to either Caymanian
students or students legally resident in the Cayman Islands who
have been accepted to colleges or universities that are approved
by the Education Council of the Cayman Islands Government. Applicants
must also be between 17 and 25 years of age at the date of the
application deadline.
Applications for the scholarship are processed once a year, with
the deadline for applications this year being 31st July 2007 for
a September or January university semester start-date.
Jean-Claude Emard, Chief Country Officer, Deutsche Bank (Cayman)
Ltd, commented:
“I am delighted to be able to launch Deutsche Bank’s
partnership with the National Gallery. The scholarship galvanizes
Deutsche Bank’s support of the visual arts and our commitment
to offering opportunities to local students in this field. The
world of art provides us all with a great deal of inspiration
and stimulates communication and cultural understanding. I am
looking forward to receiving this year’s scholarship applications
and following the progress of our scholarship students in the
future.”
