Staff from Deutsche Bank in Jersey
and Guernsey have completed their 35 hour community challenge!
Jersey Mencap's outside garden at the Le Geyt Centre has been
completely transformed - what was a grassy wasteland is now an
impressive vegetable patch complete with wheelchair access....
Just round the corner a sensory garden has been created and packed
with herbs, plants and flowers that the service users can enjoy.
In Guernsey, the Ron Short Centre's had a dramatic makeover on
an industrial scale. The site's benefited from a thorough paint
inside and out and the staff worked tirelessly to actually achieve
more than what was originally planned.
The runner-up projects for the initiative were, in Jersey, Durrell
Wildlife Conservation Trust, the Girls’ Brigade and St Ouen’s
Youth Club. In Guernsey they were the North Youth Centre, Guernsey
Cheshire Home and the Guernsey Youth Theatre. They were all presented
with a cheque for £250, representing the profits from the
phone votes together with a donation from Deutsche Bank.
Deutsche Bank is celebrating its 35th anniversary of being in
the Channel Islands and the Community Challenge forms a part of
the Bank’s celebrations.
